The Townsville Game Fishing Club (TGFC) hosted their annual Ladies Game fishing Day on Saturday June
19th.

A total of 66 female anglers including 2 juniors, entered and competed in Ladies Day across 15 teams.

A huge number of pelagic fish were caught and weighed in by the ladies, including the heaviest game fish
caught by Renee Guazzo on “The Chapel” who caught a Spanish Mackerel weighing in at 8.1 kilograms
A total of 5 black marlin tagged and released during the event with the champion team fishing on vessel
“Our Job Site” tagging 2 black marlin and weigh in 3 Spanish mackerel and runner up vessel “Bee Haven”
who tagged and released 2 Black Marlin.
Overall Event Results:
• Champion Team for 2021 – The ladies on ‘Our Jobsite’ tagging 2 black marlin and weighing in 3
Spanish mackerel.
• Runner Up Team for 2021 – The ladies on ‘Bee Haven’ tagging 2 black marlins.
• Champion Angler – Jodi Milton (‘Our Jobsite’)
• Champion Runner Up – Kat Price (‘Our Jobsite’)
• First Marlin – Karen Phillips (‘Shindig’)
• Heaviest Gamefish – Renee Guazzo (‘The Chapel’)
• Best Dressed Team (and Hard Luck Award winners) – ‘Beeline’
• Best Ollie/Olivia Pic – ‘The Chapel’ showcasing “Ollie’s big day out”
• KC Lures Best Fish – ‘Caboss’

The event delivered outstanding results with a total of $5319.00 being raised in honor local charity The
Golden Octopus Foundation.
